As Carrico states “Rituals have long been the cornerstone of anthropological thought…one would be equally hard-pressed to imagine a society without ritual.” (Carrico, 2013) This declaration corroborates numerous other statements including (Goldburg, 2009) who stated “Rituals demonstrate that religion is not only about what people believe in but also about what people do to practice and enhance their belief.” Both quotations signify the importance rituals serve not only in the development of human civilization, but also the integral role they play in anthropological thought and all religions.
